This is just from my experience.
Eat wild foods as much as possible
Don't have more than 1 or 2 kids!
Don't eat excessively
Use other people's stuff
Stay with friends
Don't get sick
Don't buy stuff you don't need (books, movies, games, watches, etc)
Don't pay rent
Don't work at a job
If you do work at a job, do it in exchange for anything but money.
if you do have money, use for:
emergencies, food, supplies, gasoline, transport (use sparingly) .
Learn from the pros: nomads, drifters, hobos, hitch-hikers, gangs, rebels, gypsies, birds, raccoons, foxes, ravens, mice and rats.
These beings are survivors.
Don't use a bank unless absolutely necessary
Sleep in a vehicle, parent's place, friend's place, squat at an abandoned place, or in the woods
Learn direction from the moon and stars
Shower wherever you can and as often as possible
wipe with a wet one
keep only as much hair as you can manage to keep clean with a little water
brush teeth with a cup of water
keep a gallon of water, sleeping bag, and flashlight handy
Keep your sanity
Be prepared for anything
Keep as healthy as possible
Exercise: push-ups, squats, lunges, sit-ups, running, hiking, and safe sex
Depend on friends
If you do buy food, stick to the ones that don't perish quickly and can be bought in bulk: rice, oatmeal, beans, pasta, nuts, dry fruit.
